Giving Is Great
Many people already know about HARO, but if you are unaware, HARO stands for Help A Reporter Out.
I love it.
It allows writes to look for very specific content from people that have great knowledge on specific topics. What is
Recently I answered a question about FREE SEO Tools that Chief Investment Officers can use to judge how their sites SEO. What is amazing is that I am now a featured expert through JiffyRank on CIO.com a DA 89 site.
What is even more amazing is that from reading the article that I was featured in, I actually learned a couple of things. The world is vast and every place that you can read experts is a great place to learn. Even if you are a featured expert, the ability to learn from those around you is always present.
Helping Others Just Feels Good
My entrepreneurial spirit driven by being able to help other people reach their goals. From owning a personal training studio, helping people reach fitness goals to creating a supplement company that helps people get an edge for their weight-loss goals to a my digital marketing consulting that helps people cut through the noise and focus on strategies that will grow their business.
To me having the ability to help someone takes paramount and the clients/sales/money will follow. Of course their is a little more to it than that but as a general rule it works out pretty closely.
Combine that with the golden rule: Do unto others as you would want done to you. Now you have recipe for provid.ing value and great services.
To summarize what is going on here, HARO is a great source for contributing your expert knowledge on all sorts of topics. It can build your brand, build you backlink profile, get to great referral traffic and boost your business by getting 3 emails a day and responding.
Don’t Get Discouraged
Most of the people that use HARO will let you know if they use your content. However, some will not which is a shame. This post for example is completely geared around giving thanks and accolades to HARO and CIO.com.
I have tweeted about it, posted on our Facebook pages and shared it on LinkedIn. By letting me know that they used my content, they are getting a nice little push through social media and gaining several contextual, relevant backlinks from several places around the web. It is a shame when I can not do this for every place that I contribute, because I would absolutely love to add more value on top of my knowledge.
